Retiring early in the hope to be up early tomorrow turned out to be futile. The excessive heat made me switch on the AC compulsively and as usual as the temperature continued to drop (my body cannot stand cold) I developed a bad cold that stayed with me through the night and the following morning. A completely blocked nose had me sitting up at 1a.m with Dan Brown for company while trying to fight sleep. A couple of hours is what it took before I slid into a fitful sleep, my head replete with thoughts of an early day to usher in the first day of the new academic year. Somehow, I have managed to get through almost half the day, now hoping to get through the other half before heading home and catching up on lost sleep!
